Zachary A. Plaut, MD
Assistant Director, Psychiatry Residency Training Program and Inpatient Psychiatrist at San Mateo Medical Center
Dr. Plaut graduated from UC Berkeley and UC Davis School of Medicine and completed his psychiatric residency at San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, where he also served as Co-Chief Resident. He then completed his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at UCSF (SFVA and Kaiser) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After his fellowship, he returned to San Mateo Medical Center as an inpatient psychiatrist and core faculty member of the residency program. Prior to walking down the path to medical school, Dr. Plaut worked for two years at UCSF as a licensed Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist and simultaneously volunteered at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center in Frontotemporal Dementia research. His professional interests include addiction and emergency psychiatry.
