This month we’re highlighting several major changes underway at BHRS. After months of preparation, BHRS entered July 1 with confidence and a clear vision as Proposition 1 implementation began. We reached key milestones, including the development of the 5-Year Roadmap, while continuing to prioritize community engagement and improving whole person care. 

BHRS is also preparing for the transition to Epic, County Health’s new electronic health record system. Since May 2026, staff have been helping guide the build of the new system through councils and workgroups, ensuring the system reflects behavioral health needs and workflows. Epic represents a major lift for our teams, but it also brings beneficial change that supports client’s whole person care. With Epic, their mental health, substance use, and physical health providers can work from the same up-to-date information to provide high-quality care.
