Docent Led Bird Walks
Redwood City

Parks/Walking Paths

Date: Second Sunday of most month @ 8 AM

Location: Edgewood Park (10 Old Stage Coach Road)

Description: All ages. Many birds make their homes in Edgewood Park, such as the Red-shouldered Hawk and the Western Bluebird.  During the fall and winter, other birds may just be passing through on their migration to somewhere else. All are a joy to watch and hear. Join a knowledgeable Audubon docent for an early morning bird walk. Hike through oak woodlands and natural meadows. Look and listen for California Thrasher, Wrentit, Oak Titmouse, Red-shouldered Hawk, Western Bluebirds, and many more. In addition to spotting birds, find out about their habits, preferences, and how they live. This 3 to 4 mile hike traverses gentle hills and lasts 3 hours. Heavy rain cancels. For group reservations, email docent-coordinator@friendsofedgewood.org. For more information, go to www.friendsofedgewood.org/bird-walks
