3rd Annual Inclusion Festival
The San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities, City of Redwood City, Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation, and Magical Bridge Redwood City are excited to announce that the 3rd Annual Inclusion Festival will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Red Morton Park in Redwood City.
All are welcome to attend this celebration of inclusion throughout the community. Free food and water will be available for the first 400 guests, along with free entertainment including the Peter Pan Foundation and Comedians with Disabilities Showcase.

Disabilities Art Showcase
The San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities and Office of Arts and Culture is pleased to announce a Call For Artists for this year’s “Disabilities Art Showcase,” which recognizes, celebrates, and honors the disabilities community of San Mateo County during October, National Disabilities Awareness Month.
To apply, please submit 1 photo of artwork (.jpeg, .png, or other readable file) to Andrew Eng, staff liaison to the Commission on Disabilities, along with your application by no later than September 16, 2022 at 5:00pm (PST). Artists accepted into Disabilities Art Showcase—2022 will be notified by email by Wednesday, September 23rd.
Disabilities Art Showcase—2022, the 14th annual San Mateo County Disabilities Art Showcase, is open to individuals with disabilities starting from Freshmen year of High School through adulthood. Participants must live in San Mateo County or be employed by the County of San Mateo. Artists are encouraged to submit artwork that exemplifies their personal view of the world. Painting, photography, digital painting, and mixed media are welcome so long as the conditions mentioned in the Call For Artists document are met.
Commission on Disabilities Logo Design Contest
The Commission on Disabilities would like to invite all members of the community to submit their own design of a logo. The winning design will be used by the Commission on Disabilities for all correspondences. Submissions must follow the criteria described in the Call for Artists document linked below. The winning artist will be awarded a $200 VISA gift card.
Please submit as many designs as you wish. Submissions can be hand drawn or digital designs (.jpeg, .png, or other readable file). Send all submissions to Andrew Eng, Staff Liaison to the Commission on Disabilities, at aeng@smcgov.org no later than September 30, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. (PST); the winning designer will be notified by email by November 15, 2022. Winning designer will be invited to present the logo to the Board of Supervisors.
