February 2026
BHRS Director's Newsletter

Post

Dr. Jei AfricaWelcome to 2026! We are already off to a busy start. In this newsletter we’re shining a spotlight on the months of dedicated efforts by the Overdose Prevention Coalition to expand access to overdose prevention resources in our community. Additionally, we are making strides in our Transformation Journey; the five-year roadmap has been launched and outlines our priorities, goals, and how we aim to achieve them. While we’ve received feedback from over 600 staff members, community members and partners, there are still opportunities to share your input.

Please note that, to stay aligned with upcoming changes to federal guidelines and laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and best practices for effective and equitable communication, the BHRS Director’s Newsletter articles will now be published directly to our San Mateo County Health website. These changes reflect our shared commitment to accessibility, inclusivity and ensuring that accurate information is available to our community. Continue to find up to date information about BHRS happenings each month at smchealth.org/post/directors-newsletter!
