Shannon Moore-Langston, MD, JD
PGY4 Co-Chief Resident, Psychiatry Residency Training Program


Shannon Moore-Langston is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, Brooklyn Law School, and completed her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. As a medical student, she volunteered at local organizations providing care for the underserved and immigrant populations, pursued an interest in bioethics, and co-chaired the Student Interest Group in Neurology. As a law student, she co-chaired the school’s Health Law and Policy Association and spent a summer advocating for improved conditions, treatment, and appropriate access to the legal system for incarcerated youth. Since joining San Mateo County as a psychiatry resident, she has also been involved in Crisis Intervention Training, helping provide education for police officers on aspects of mental illness in order to facilitate safe interactions between officers and individuals with mental illness in the community. Dr. Moore-Langston has interests in forensic psychiatry, trauma, and psychotherapy; She plans to continue to pursue a career in psychiatry and the law after graduation.
