Irene Pham
Community Program Specialist I
Irene Pham (she/her), a Bay Area native, wife, and mother of two (three if you include her dog Snickerdoodle), was inspired by her childhood visits to the Philippines to advocate for equity and social change. Her father’s involvement in local politics further fueled her passion for creating systemic change. She earned a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene and a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Southern California, which provided her the opportunity to work with students and programs that provided services to low-income neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Irene eventually returned to the Bay Area where she joined San Mateo County’s Total Wellness team, which focused on integrative care and addressing health disparities for those struggling with behavioral health issues. Currently serving as the WET Training Coordinator for the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Office of Diversity and Equity, Irene enhances training efforts to equip the workforce with the skills needed to better serve clients and the community. Additionally, she actively participates in the Filipino Mental Health Initiative (FMHI) and enjoys spending her free time with family, crafting, and tending to her garden.
