The new Chinese Community Health Worker (華人健康 社工), is a bi-lingual (Chinese and English) behavioral health worker who is from the Chinese community. If you have questions or concerns about emotional/mental health or well being, alcohol or substance use issues, or excessive gambling for you or a family member, contact Shiyu Zhang. She can assist help inform and educate you about services and help connect you to services you may need to maintain health and wellness in your life.

Providers who work with Chinese clients

The Chinese Community Health Worker is a crucial link between Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and the Chinese community and was created to address cultural barriers and the stigma of seeking help for behavioral health problems in San Mateo County. She will facilitate access to mental health and substance use services through outreach, education, health promotion and linkage to services. If you work with Chinese clients, contact Shiyu to refer a client or to partner with her in providing education and health promotion for the Chinese community.
