Health Ambassador Program – Youth
BHRS

RFP

The County of San Mateo, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) is seeking proposals from organizations to provide services for a Health Ambassador Program for youth and young adults, aged 16 to 24 years of age.  Health Ambassador Program-Youth (HAP-Y) is a program that is funded through the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) (Proposition 63), which is designed to engage individuals, families and communities to be active change agents regarding their health, especially behavioral health, leading to a healthier San Mateo County. HAP-Y was built on the idea that informed youth can take a proactive role in helping to keep their families and communities healthy. HAP-Y is intended to engage youth (ages 16-24) in trainings, conversations, and workshops around behavioral health and wellness, with the goal of participants becoming ambassadors in their communities, create behavioral health professional pathways, reduce stigma and share mental health, substance use and wellness resources.
