New Way of Providing Care

We’re changing how we provide care for adult patients. We want to meet all your health needs in one appointment, when possible.

Before every appointment, your care team will meet to review your medical chart. Your care team includes doctors, nurses, and others who work closely together to give you the care you need. At some appointments you will meet with several team members. Sometimes you may only see a nurse. It depends on what you need.

If you need to see a specialist or need other services like physical therapy, we may provide it all in the same appointment. If not, we’ll make sure you have a follow-up appointment that works for you.

We are excited to offer a new way to provide complete care and appreciate your patience and feedback as we improve your visit.

General information

Interpretation Services
You have the right to an interpreter at no cost to you.

To give you the best healthcare, we need to understand you. And you need to understand us. We can provide an interpreter in almost any language, including American Sign Language.

In some cases, we can arrange to have in-person interpreters available. In most cases, we will use our voice and video interpretation system. With this system, our staff can locate an interpreter for your language in a minute or two. You and your doctor will be able to either see the interpreter live on a video screen or talk to him (or her) on a speaker phone.

San Mateo Medical Center provides a wide range of primary care services from routine health exams to managing chronic conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. Our doctors, nurses and other health professionals promote good health through preventative medicine, health screenings and health education. If you should need a specialist, we can coordinate your care.

From school physicals and immunizations to infant care and chronic disease management, we provide pediatric care in clinics throughout San Mateo County. We know our patients want more information about how to stay healthy so we emphasize education and prevention.
