A Safe, Welcoming Environment


San Mateo Medical Center strives to be a place where everyone feels welcome and safe.  

We reject hatred, prejudice, racism, sexism, bigotry, bullying, or violence of any manner toward any individual regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, ancestry, immigration status or country of birth. We also reject any effort to intimidate, threaten, or marginalize any member of the community.  

We are committed to ensuring a safe, welcoming, respectful, healing environment for everyone: our patients, clients, visitors, and staff.

For everyone’s safety, we prohibit: 

Discrimination: Any action, language or behavior that is abusive, or discriminatory, based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or other identities.

Harassment:; Harassment, including sexual harassment and/or unwelcome behavior or language

Violence: Any act or threat of violence or intimidation, including physical assault

Weapons: The use or brandishing of any weapon to intimidate, threaten, or assault
