Shannon Moore-Langston, MD

Dr. Moore-Langston completed undergraduate work at Stanford University. She then did a JD at Brooklyn Law School, an MD at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and then her residency in psychiatry at San Mateo. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to joining us as a half-time outpatient psychiatrist and half-time APD, she was a general adult psychiatrist, treating the full range of emotional and psychological challenges faced by adults of all ages. She has a lifelong interest in human behavior, emotions, and relationships and has studied these topics from the perspectives of psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience and the law for more than two decades. She approaches care from a holistic perspective, incorporating medication management, psychodynamically informed psychotherapy and somatic, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral interventions. She is experienced in treating anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, and PTSD/trauma with a particular interest in racial and intergenerational trauma.
She previously served as Co-director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her interests include community, forensic and emergency psychiatry.
