How do I sign up for one of the free workshops?
If you are a provider actively working in the IHSS program, contact the Public Authority’s Training Specialist, Stacy Goldsby at (650) 578-7146 or email her at PAworkshops@smcgov.org to register for a workshop.
Are these workshops mandatory?
No, these workshops are voluntary.
Will I be paid?
No, you will not receive payment for attending workshops.
Will I earn a Certificate of Completion if I attend a workshop?
Yes, you will earn a certificate if you attend the 6 Essential Caregiving Skills workshops. These are a series of workshops that cover learning or refreshing skills relevant to all caregivers. The series includes: Safe Lifting & Transferring, Infection Control, Personal Care, Fall Prevention, Red Flags of Chronic Health Conditions, Nutrition
Can I bring my IHSS consumer with me to the workshop?
Yes, let Stacy know when you call to register.
Will attending a workshop give me Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) for school or my professional license?
No, our workshops do not count towards CEU’s for school or your professional license.
