Eric D. Raffin
Chief Information Officer
As chief information officer, Eric Raffin oversees technology related to patient records and health care delivery for San Mateo County Health’s clinics and programs. He also monitors the business intelligence systems, cyber security and information protection, health information exchange, and IT strategy.
Before joining San Mateo County Health in 2012, he spent nearly seventeen years with the Department of Veterans Affairs in several senior leadership roles in both health care information technology and health care operations.
Raffin earned master’s degrees in health administration and human resources management from the Washington University School of Medicine’s health administration program and completed a post-graduate fellowship with the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System. Raffin maintains board certification in health care management through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is engaged on national committees with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
Raffin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and lives on the Peninsula with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he plays clarinet and saxophone in two community bands and enjoys fly fishing and exploring the trails and backroads of Northern California.
