Anna Jung, MD
PGY4 Co-Chief Resident, Psychiatry Residency Training Program
Anna Jung is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate education at UCLA with a BA in History. After graduating, she volunteered as a Korean translator at Shriner’s Children Hospital and rediscovered her passion to pursue medicine. She co-founded a clinic-run food pantry in Bayview-Hunter’s Point while completing a post-bac program in SF. She also dabbled in research on tetraphenlyporphyrins for potential use in photodynamic therapy and co-directed a program with a 3-year grant from The California Endowment that prepared pre-health students from low socioeconomic backgrounds for the rigors of college science courses. In medical school, she dedicated her time as a Co-Director of Paul Hom Asian Clinic serving the underserved population of Sacramento. As a member of the UCD School of Medicine Auction committee, she was heavily involved in raising funds for the various student-run clinics. She was an officer of the Psychiatry Student Interest group and served on a Professionalism Consultation Service committee for the medical school. Dr. Jung has a broad professional interest within Psychiatry, which include geriatrics, addiction, and forensics. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking for a crowd, crafting, and being out in the sun.
